Bagging a Nobel peace prize by U.S president Barack Obama has left common mass awestruck. The name of the peace prize winner has left many puzzled about why he deserved the award. The announcement of the result declared on Friday quickly became the top discussions amongst the bloggers and twitter community. Most of the users presented their state of shock by posting comments such as “They wanted to give him an honor I guess but I can’t think what for”, “OBAMA WON?”, “It would be wonderful if I could think why he won”, “He deserves it I guess, he is the president”.

An online straw poll by MSNBC asked a question, whether Obama deserved the prize or not, 62% of more than 194,000 said No, 24% said yes and rest surly said the decision was premature.

The award was considered as political. While many others were happy to flow with the stream despite of the fact they couldn’t answer “the why”. Well! Deserving or not, the declaration has shown that U.S is still the prevalent power and it does really matter.
