Seven things to Keep in Mind before You Meet Your Hairstylist
Few events in our everyday lives hold as much significance as a hairstyling appointment. It can be filled with anxiety about the final result or laden with unrealistic hopes for that ultimate makeover. However it would do well to remember a few facts which will help you to set out for that hair-styling appointment with the proper perspective.
A hairstylist is a beautician and not a magician. She can give you a superstar’s haircut but nor her face.
Remember that as you get along in age, you might need different types of styling. Layers work wonders to soften the lines around your face.
Don’t ask your stylist for “just a trim”. Even a simple trim needs skill, experience, knowledge and time and you would do well to respect the fact.
Arrive at the salon five minutes before the appointment so that your stylist can begin without last-minute hassle. Be sure to call if you are going to be late. This is business and not fun and games.
Don’t expect your child’s haircut to cost less than yours. Remembers kids fidget, kick and holler. It is mostly a nerve-racking experience.
Be wary of asking your stylist to “squeeze” in her schedule. She will most likely be booked and taking time away from her other clients will be unprofessional. Moreover you might not be pleased with the final result of a hasty session.
Finally, you are there for a styling appointment and not a therapy session. So, keep your personal problems away since all your stylist is actually interested in is your hair.

Bras for men
In an ever changing world, fashion is no constant either. A lot of fashion trends are about creating drama. Which is what the phenomenon of men wearing bras is all about. Yes you heard that right! A Japanese store has sold many a men’s bra (in colours such as black, white and pink) and is still getting some overwhelming response, say report. The reason being given out is ‘getting in touch with the feminine side’. And if that’s not enough, a UK store is now selling heeled shoes for babies.
Most designers agree that these are just passing fads that would find only a small market across the globe. They also believe that such trends are a ploy for just another marketing and publicity tactic.

Donnatella Versace: Prima Donna of Fashion
Speaking on fashion a being fashion conscious, Donnatella was reported heard mentioning that the one thing about fashion is that ‘Fashion is not frivolous’. Her views on fashion were balance in many respects when she considered it a form of fantasy, something that Versace has developed as head of the Italian fashion house since taking over the reigns after the tragic death of her brother Gianni.
With a range of lifestyle items from sunglasses to furniture and even hotels, the Versace brand developed since 1980’s when it was all about supermodels and a confident, almost decadent, glamor. Gianni Versace was one of the first fashion designers to recognize the power of celebrity, and Donatella, working with her brother, had a strong hand in the advertising campaigns. She notes that while she has taken the Versace company in her own direction, Gianni was a huge influence on her life, encouraging her to join him when he was setting up his burgeoning fashion business.
