The One I Adore

You are my
One true love
I grow to love you
More and more
Each passing day
My love for you
Will never fade away
It will always
Remain strong
You are the one
I want for all time
You are
The One I Adore
There’s no one else
That will do
I only promise
To love only you
You’re the only one
For me
You are
The One I Adore

To Reef

I dreamt of you last night
Your face it filled my mind
And then I saw the light
That once near made me blind

I looked into your eyes
Once more to see you smile
That perfect little face
Me crying all the while

In the dream you knew me
A memory from your past
And lay quiet in my arms
Happy then at last

But dreams have sudden endings
They haven’t time or place
And they often leave the dreamer
With tears upon her face

One day

There’s a time to die
A time to live
A time for lies
And a time for truth
Run and hide
Escape while you can
Close your eyes
And let him feed your fears
You yearn and pine
While you deceive and hide
All for him
Honey all for him
One day some day
You will be in his arms
And there will be no one else
Honey no one else
Only your fears and the man who feeds them

In Your Arms This Afternoon

Today when I was sleeping beside you,
In your arms, kissing you,
A thought came to my mind,
That I could spend my life like that,
I just felt that all troubles were too small,
Life is not just work, study or walking through shopping malls.

With you I laughed, with you I shed my fears,
Expanded my smile and dropped no tears,
You taught me to live life and that there was no strife,
Lying here I feel very light,
Don’t leave me, hold me tight.

May this afternoon never end,
Coz things there are things I can never mend,
I don’t want to leave you, ever,
I just wanna lie beside you, forever,

Fell asleep and dreamt of you,
May I always wake up beside you,
Hold me tight, don’t hold me loose,
I may slip away with time, like sand dunes.

I want to wake up every time,
And see your lovely face,
So that I can live easy,
So that life doesn’t seem like a maze.

I never wanted to be your betrothed,
Today, I feel as if I am a part of you,
I want to be a part of your life now,
I want to share my life with you.

Today afternoon, I didn’t sleep at all,
I have traveled a thousand lands,
Known no ends,
But I still feel incomplete
Coz you’re still asleep.

Do you still love me?

Don’t love me like a flower, flowers dry out in the summer heat,
Love me like a river, coz river water has a constant beat,
I loved you but just couldn’t tell you,
I didn’t know that you had loved me too.

I met you somewhere, I don’t remember when,
I was too bold and you were too shy then,
I remember the days we would spend just talking,
And at nights just kept on waiting.

I remember how I made you cry that day,
I remember the promises I had to make,
I remember the walks back home,
The long chats on the phone.

I still remember the way you looked at me,
When I said no to marry you,
Your eyes wanted some sign,
To reassure you that I still loved you.

I remember how we fought on silly things,
On how to cook or how to mend broken links,
I remember the way you sang that night,
I try to forget that with all my might.

I don’t know whether you remember those evenings or not,
I don’t know whether you have forgotten my love or what,
But I still love you with all my heart,
I will keep loving you till I breathe my last.

Born from my heart

I cherish…
Her lovely smile,
when I held her in my arms for a while.

I do no good….
To deserve those magical moments,
which filled my life with lovely presents.

I had tears rolling….
To thank God for that precious gift,
which gave my emotions an instant uplift.

So long in my life…
I longed to be a mother,
With her mysterious look and contagious smile,
she sat in my eyes and sank in my soul.

All I say…
She is not born from my womb,
but somewhere deep from my heart….

It passed me by

Verse 1
I watched the moment slip away
But it hasn’t sunk in yet
It’s the middle of the day
Here I wither in regret

I try and try to call you back
But I can’t make it to the phone
Lightning keeps me on the couch
Thunder pounds into my dome

Chorus
See me now
See me drowning all alone
I’m a coward
Too scared to drive up to your home

See me now
See me drowning all alone
I stumble in your absence
Just staring at the phone

Verse 2
I had the chance to pull you back
Couldn’t make it to my feet
You saw the end in sight
And saw the end of you and me

I live inside the thoughts
Of us staring out to sea
You’re everything I wanted
And you’re breezing right past me

Chorus
See me now
See me drowning all alone
I’m a coward
Too scared to drive up to your home

See me now
See me drowning all alone
I stumble all in your absence
Just staring at the phone

Break
I never understood the words, I’m sorry
Because you meant just what you said
I took off in such a hurry
Just to lie alone in bed

We both know it isn’t over
Without our blinkers, changing lanes
Now that we’re both learning
It feels like such a shame

Chorus
See me now
See me drowning all alone
I’m a coward
Too scared to drive to your home

See me now
See me drowning all alone
I stumble all around
Just staring at the phone

Back to the Beach

Let’s soak in the sun’s gaze
And kill off a Thursday
This afternoon’s
nothing but shade

Let’s toast the Bacardi
Keep the laughter hearty
Light it up
And we smoke it away

Chorus
Under the shade of the palm trees
Close my eyes in the cool breeze
You tell us a joke
We laugh it all day

Under the shade of the palm trees
Close my eyes in the cool breeze
Let’s just all dance
All this away

Verse 2
I’m the last one to go home
Down the beach I roam
I count the seashells
Stuck between my toes

I see a middle age sexpot
Man is she hot
Her dragon tattoo runs up her thigh

Chorus
Under the shade of the palm trees
Close my eyes in the cool breeze
You tell us a joke
We laugh it all day

Under the shade of the palm trees
Close my eyes in the cool breeze
Let’s just all dance
All this away

Break
She winks and she moves on
I imagine she turns back
I searched and searched
For that perfect rhyme

Drinking under the sunshine
She fades into the skyline

… It’s just the rum
playing tricks on my mind.

Chorus
Under the shade of the palm trees
Close my eyes in the cool breeze
You tell us a joke
We laugh it all day

Under the shade of the palm trees
Close my eyes in the cool breeze
Let’s just all dance
All this away

Verse 3
My buzz starts to wear off
The sun starts to fade off
Watching the ocean
And the palm trees sway

Lay back in the cool shade
My mind smiles away
Watching the sun fade
Falling away

NYC

Verse 1
A windy day in July
A crowded downtown street
So many feet
Walking on by

Park down on the bench
Bite into a slice
So many feet
Passing on by

Pre-chorus
I see your baby
Throws a smile at me
As we make eyes
As she strolls down the street

But I seem to lose
My inspiration
Every other day of the week

Chorus
The memory of you
Takes the face of the world
With each new face I meet
It starts to take form

The memory of you
My baby faced girl
When will you come
Back into my world

Verse 2
I draw the blinds shut
Grab my six-string
Strum your favorite song
Until the stroke of noon

But your picture won’t talk
An empty bottle’s so shallow
I’m lost in the raindrops
That bounce off the roof

Pre-chorus
I head out on the deck
Stick out my tongue
Look up at the sky
Searching for you

Just then the phone rings
Your picture pops up
I hop in the jeep
And head straight for you

Chorus
The memory of you
Takes the face of the world
With each new face I meet
It starts to take form

The memory of you
My baby faced girl
When will you come
Back into my world

Break
If this is how it should be
Then the next stop would be you

These memories are selective….

But the best way to make it through…

…Alone without you

Verse 3
I return to the moment
Look up at the sky
Not a cloud to be found
Or a single drop of rain

I look down at my phone
Not a single missed call
Go grab another slice
Sit back, enjoy the day

Back on the bench
I finish my slice
Take a last sip
Confused at what’s real

The baby giggles away
Her face falls in her hands

Man if she knew
…How I know how she feels

Chorus
But the memory of you
Takes the face of the world
With Every body I see
It starts to take form

The memory of you
My baby faced girl
When will you come
Back into my world

The Stream

It gently flows on its travels,
Not know the corners ahead,
It snakes through the countryside,
Always walking its race,
Each bend is new,
Each day a new face,
Yet still it travels,
To an unknown place,
It flows through the spoils,
That it gathers with pace,
And drags it along,
With cause or case,
Yet still it flows,
Like an endless breath,
Until it meets its home,
Where it can finally rest…
