Lord, help us to show love to those in need.
Help us to reach out to the suffering;
To be kind and helpful in time of need;
To the lonely be a friend by caring;
To the friendless reach out and be a friend.
Those who are arrogant show patience,
Be loving and attempt not to offend.
The downtrodden we show benevolence.
The loss of loved ones we show sympathy.
Those who are ill we pray for God’s healing.
Help us Lord to serve you with empathy.
Help us to do our best to be loving.
Jesus, Your love and Salvation we thank you.
Give us a right heart also to love you.

I set out to paint
The perfect picture today
With splashes of black and white
And hues of lavender and gray
And as my paintbrush flowed against a canvas
The image started to appear and become so clear
Because it was everything that I ever hoped for
Holding it to my heart so near
Then God tapped me on my shoulder
And whispered into my ear
The picture that you painted was never yours
But mine all along
With graphic detail; the painting becomes a song
And brush strokes like heartfelt words
And as my paintbrush flowed against a canvas
The image started to appear and become so clear
It was everything that I ever hoped for
Because the picture that I painted
Was a picture of you.

Dreaming within the dreams;
surpassing all imaginable realms,
A desire every time,
sends a chill through my spine,
Will she ever be mine?
Though she is everyone’s desire;
and I stand the least chance,
but that’s the needed fire,
to wield the needed stance.
Perhaps, my sweat and blood,
has not been spilled enough,
But far more is my passion;
and grit to outlive the condition.
Her denial has never shattered me,
but made me stronger everyday,
Crossing all the hurdles in my way;
I will embrace her as I say.
The depth of feelings in my heart;
none will ever come to know,
But soon my ill-fate will bow;
and the psyche in me will show,
I’ll be loving her as long as,
The stars at night will glow

The phone call that I made today…
Brought me back… to the begining…
of all the pain…of all the heartache…and, of all the sorrow…
That is in my soul…
It was like the day, you left me on the side of the freeway…
Scared…Alone…forever damaged from love’s first punch…
And, when I finally returned home…without you…
I was not a sad little girl anymore…
I was a woman…
Heartbroken, scorned and shattered from the reflection I once had of you…
You left me there

well, i know what it’s like to be in love with you.
i would pull the sun and the moon down at your feet
to play marbles with if you asked me to.
i could trade favorite colors, mine for yours, if you wanted to.
as i can not seem to stop crying over you as shall continue to do so.
only i’ll do so in the prettiest water colored thoughts.cut out of the most precious tears in life.
i am constantly surrounded by the ever changing affects of your love.
and am lost within the reflections of it’s silence, then once again found by the soft purring sounds of desire.
when i’m with you i feel as though i am beyond the consequences of right or wrong, good or bad.
and i shall try to conceal my disappointment when i turn to give you a smile,
and realize for the first time that you do not share these same joys.
do you ever find yourself wandering carelessly amongst thoughts of me?
these are my fears familiar scars bared. now outside my thoughts and not because i am totally lost,
but rather….i weep for the repose of our once acquainted souls.
i long for the release from their memory.

I never knew a friend
Till I got my first pen
On the sheets
We were…
Lyrical With no beats
We were…
The hood with no streets
We were…
What the next poet wished
He could be
Now it would travel with me
When I travel
It would be
Hanging off my shirt
Or carried in my purse
Most times in my pocket
I would rock it
Even though it couldn’t speak
It was able to leak
Thru its ink
What I would think
It would feel my passion
And my rage
And make my words on the page
Each word that I printed
My pen made it clear I was gifted
At times it would bleed
Making my words hard to read
The meaning behind that was simple
It was telling me
I had more potential
I would take that advice
And create a better write
Then on each line
We intertwined
We were profound
With no sound
We were harmony
And energy
And that energy
Was then
Poetic Symmetry
To the day that it was empty
My Pen…My Best Friend

On foreign sands he rides,
remembering home’s soft white snow,
God sees him all alone at night,
in a place where only a soldier will go.
God sends a light,
on the Christmas night,
a star for him to see,
On a soldier’s Christmas tree.
The winter seems so hard and cold,
until he feels the fire of the flame,
He prays to the good Lord,
As he hears the winter wind whisper his name,
He knows he has the gift of seeing a glorious sight,
God sends a light,
on Christmas night,
a star for him to see,
On a soldier’s Christmas tree.
He hears the soulful bird sing,
and watches him spread his wings,
As if he lived in dreams,
The soulful bird takes his flight,
Toward heaven it seems,
God sends his light.
on a Christmas night,
a star for him to see,
On a soldier’s Christmas tree.
He feels he’s at the perfect place on earth,
to celebrate the Christ child’s birth,
There is no where else He’d rather search,
He has found his church,
God sends his light.
on a Christmas night,
a star for him to see,
On a soldier’s Christmas tree
Decorated with memories of his love,
Sent from God up above,
Shining bright for the world to see.
God sends a star, for hope and peace
over the war, across the seas
To a soldier’s Christmas tree.

She’s the girl
I left behind
The girl inside
Who blew your mind…
The girl without
A care or thought
The girl who left
With a broken heart…
He’s grown older
She’s grown colder
Their life together
Remains untold…
Their dreams and passions
Exist in time
Forgotten feelings
She longs to find…
Extinguished fire
From a lover’s flame
With charcoaled ashes
Now who’s to blame…
Love had scared her
So she ran away
And dying inside her
Was a longing to stay…
Love’s what she wanted
But, love doesn’t last
Because love is a shadow
That dwells in the past.

we all travel down our own paths
some paths twist and some paths turn
but we must travel them.
though the path of life may seem hard
know that that path is yours and only yours.
our paths all have the same start
and they all lead to this same place
yet its the decisions we make
in life that will lead our paths to cross
and though we may cross paths
and we continue down them together
ultimately our paths will lead us in diffirent directions
it is only when we try to follow the path of others
that we lose our way. trying to get back on the path
where we where happy will lead us to a dead end
because our paths lead us foward never back
so always keep in mind emotions are earthly
but our paths are eternal. so move foward never back.
and you’ll find that though we all must travel alone
we will cross paths again. so until then we must
continue down our paths until our path ends
